Motion design is a design discipline covering visual design, direction and production of moving image.

The discipline has arisen from the increasing technical possibilities of computerized graphics and offers alternative ways of storytelling and communication. Motion design draws from and combines expertise within film language, production technique, communication, aesthetics and above all design. This very mixture allows for ideas and solutions to quickly spring from all areas during the design process resulting in new and different opportunities to reach people.

01. Creative Brief

For a successful outcome we begin all projects with a detailed examination of our clients’ goals and expectations of the forthcoming task. Together with our client we define the purpose, the specifics and the success criteria of the project. The result is described in a creative brief which functions as guideline for the further development of the project. The brief is essential for arriving directly on target.

02. Concept & Design

The development of the concept and design of a project is obviously one of the most valuable steps in the production process. Ideas, both conceptual and visual, are the foundation of making an impact on the audience. The uniqueness of an idea is what differentiates a brand from its competition.
We focus on creating individual design solutions for each project. We base our development on a profound knowledge of the newest industry trends and techniques and make use of our expertise within communication, design and film language. At this point in the development production techniques are also taken into account in order to keep budget. 03. Direction

Directing motion design is slightly different from traditional moving image. Due to the often nonverbal communication and visual plots and points, motion design requires extra consideration as to the way things move. Attention to flow, rythm and pace is very important when working on how people should feel and experience a certain clip – we know how to make this work. Furthermore we have an extensive knowlegde of traditional film language and how to communicate within the aspect of time to ensure a clear and powerfull message.

04. Production

The actual production of footage begins once the final concept and design is determined. The goal is to accurately build, film and animate what was planed in the previous phase. This part of the process depends heavily on technical expertises and experience in various areas. Depending on the nature of the project we make both mixtures and pure productions of live and digital footage and build sets, props and characters to match. We offer different types of animation such as rotoscoping, stop motion, digital 2d and light 3d animation. For projects depending on post production we offer planning and supervision of shoots.

05. Post-Production

Post production often plays a large role in motion design due to its visual based communication. In this last phase of the production process the raw footage is transformed into a final piece through editing, compositing and visual effects. Based on our technical expertise and experience we complete the project with attention to detail and to the highest standard.

06. Delivery
